A year-long Aging in America scientific lecture and community discussion series

CALS-affiliated faculty will bring world-renowned experts on aging and longevity to UCSB to highlight research aimed at promoting healthier lives and an empowered aging community

April 25, 2022

America is aging, and this demographic shift has implications for almost every aspect of society. Understanding aging and longevity requires a broad, interdisciplinary approach from the biological, psychological, and social sciences. Three CALS-affiliated faculty, Nicole Alea Albada, Joel Rothman, & Emily Jacobs, were awarded a grant from UCSB's College of Letters and Sciences to be a part of the Critical Issues in America series to promote this interdisciplinarity and broad understanding of aging-related issues. The series will host renowned experts from across the country between January and December 2023 to present their work about aging and longevity to the UCSB and surrounding community. The focus of the series is Aging in America: Leveraging the Frontiers of Aging Research to Promote Healthier Lives and an Empowered Community. Visit the Events tab for further details.
