Aging in America Lecture Series Begins
Cynthia Kenyon, world-renowned scientist, will be the first speaker of the Aging in America Lecture Series.
The year-long Critical Issues - Aging in America Lecture Series will launch on April 6th. The theme of the series is Aging in America: Leveraging the Frontiers of Aging Research to Promote Healthier Lives and an Empowered Community. The Series brings world-renowned biologists, psychologists, demographers, and economists to UCSB to discuss issues associated with growing older and living longer in today’s society. The goal of the lecture series is to bring a multidisciplinary audience of scientists, students, and the community together to spark new research ideas that aim to promote successful aging and increased vitality with longevity.
The Lecture Series events are free and open to the campus community and public. No RSVP is required.
The Critical Issues in America series, which has been running continuously since 1995, provides funds for educational and public programming centered around an important topic of contemporary concern or significance. It is administered each year by the College of Letters and Science.
