CALS Director of Education & Outreach, Nicole Albada, teaches the new seminar course on Aging and Longevity Studies

Dr. Albada’s course provides insight into cross-disciplinary research in the field of gerontology and geroscience.

Dr. Albada invites guest speakers from different disciplines at UC Santa Barbara studying gerontology to speak about the latest technological advancements and discoveries affecting the lives of older adults. With a number of speakers from the fields of sociology, anthropology, psychology, biology, cultural studies, and communication, Dr. Albada invites students to discuss the most pressing questions on successful aging in light of recent demographic shifts in human society, encouraging students to think about the implications of aging on all aspects of society: the economy, healthcare, education, climate change, and individual wellbeing.
