CALS-Affiliate, Tamara Afifi, wins the Mark L. Knapp Award in Interpersonal Communication

The National Communication Association awarded Dr. Afifi the Mark L. Knapp Award for her research focusing on the health impacts of familial communication in various situations, including stressful circumstances like within families that are undocumented, living in refugee camps or coping with chronic illness, divorce or elder caregiving. Dr. Afifi, who serves as the department chair, said that she was "deeply honored and humbled to have received this award, especially when there are so many scholars who are worthy of receiving it."
