This prestigious recognition is part of the NIH’s High-Risk, High-Reward Research program, which funds bold and innovative scientific projects. Montell, who first earned the award in 2014, will use the funding to advance her team’s work on a revolutionary cancer treatment and therapies for diseases like antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections.
