Research Overview

My research is primarily in the area of chronic disease.  I am particularly interested in disease trajectories, the effect of disease on patients and their accumulation of multiple co-morbidities as they age.  As an actuary the economic effects of multiple diseases and ways to reduce or reverse the progression of disease are significant.  My publications have been awarded prizes by the Disease Management Association of America, the American Risk & Insurance Association and the Society of Actuaries.  My textbooks on chronic population management and predictive modeling for population risk stratification are required reading for actuaries pursuing health actuarial certifications.
