Research Overview

Dr. Thompson González’s work evaluates the trajectories of social integration with age in relation to the reproductive strategies of male and female chimpanzees, and the relationships of these trajectories with inflammation and health. She currently organizes a cross-species and cross-cultural working group that aims to determine how diverse ecologies and cultures inform patterns of social change with aging in human and non-human apes, with particular emphasis on differences between genders, sexes, and aspects of social status.
