Research Overview

Dr. Yi's team uses genomic and epigenomic tools to investigate how regulatory mechanisms evolve and how they contribute to fundamental biological processes such as aging. Epigenetic marks including genomic DNA methylation change in a specific way during aging in diverse species. Dr. Yi and her team investigates epigenome reprogramming during aging at genomic resolution to understand the mechanisms of epigenetic aging and their implications in age-related diseases. They use model and non-model species including marine invertebrate organisms, human and non-human primates to explore epigenetic aging.
